A spacious house to refresh for sale in a quiet hamlet near Château-Chinon, the "capital" of the Morvan.

This house has been raised around 1920 with one floor, and has on the ground floor a ceiling height of no less than 3 metres. It has 2 front doors, one facing south, the other one facing north. It has been uninhabited for some 20 years, but maintained by the family, and is now for sale.

We follow the pictures during the visit: First the sunny side facing south, the street side with access to the cellars, the north side with the yard, a shed for storing wood, and the garden, in total about 1,000 m², plenty of space to enjoy the sun.

On the other side of the small road without traffic, a garage and 2 stables.

We enter the vaulted cellar on the street side, cellar 1 with the hot water boiler and its own spring water supply (there is also mains water), cellar 2 with the septic tank, and out again on the other side.

Entering the house through the north door, note the ceiling height (!), the corridor 10m² with built-in cupboards (one of the previous owners was a carpenter), on the right the kitchen 10m², behind it the living room 15m². On the left, an intermediate room 10m² with built-in cupboard, then a bedroom 10m². On the left side of the staircase, a small bathroom with washbasin, toilet and (hip) bath 3,5m².

Up the stairs to the first floor with a landing and 5 bedrooms of 10m² each. On the drawing you see 4 and a bathroom, but that is a plan (not yet implemented).
A folding stairs to the large attic 64m² above the whole, possible to be made habitable.

Both on the ground floor and on the first floor, all internal walls are non-bearing, so they can easily be rearranged. The house is in reasonable condition, just like the roof, with no structural surprises. The septic tank is not up to the current standard, and the electricity needs to be modernised. Everything is single glazed, without insulation.

You should consider buying a good liveable "shell" that needs to be modernised.

On the other side of the road, a garage, and 2 stables, all with one floor, to be converted into one or two gîtes with a nice terrace in front of it.

At 2 km from Château-Chinon with almost all small city facilities, Autun at 35 km, Nevers 65 km. TGV station Montchanin 70 km (Paris at 1h15m).
