I want to say that originally this was the local butcher's shop and accommodation; but I do believe if you go further back in time it was part of the original convent in the village. Saint-Léger-Magnazeix is a great little village, with a primary school, library, post office, a bar that has bread delivered daily, a Tabac and a restaurant, together with a little garden centre. You also have a few commercial premises including two garages.

Only 10 minutes' drive away is Lussac-les-Églises again with shops, bars, and restaurants, and in the other direction Magnac-Laval, with a full range of shops, cafes, banks, and many other services.

Le Dorat is around 18 minutes away and is the traditional capital of the Basse Marche. Within the ramparts of this ancient town are some fine examples of Romanesque architecture, including the Collegiale Saint-Pierre-de-Dorat. The surrounding area has all year-round attractions including horse racing (French style) sound and light shows; craft days; all year-round markets as well as concerts, tennis, cinema, fishing, sailing, and windsurfing in nearby locations.

Getting to the area is easy with flights from several UK airports into Limoges or Potiers and trains in Le Dorat itself; having links to services to Poitiers train station where you have TGV connections to Paris, Bordeaux, London & Brussels.

The house has mains water, electricity and drainage. It is double glazed with good roof insulation and fibre optic Wi-Fi is available.

For anyone looking for a village house as either a permanent or holiday home, this is ideal as it is low-maintenance, and there are many amenities in the village or close by. Should you want to wander around this beautiful area of the Haute Vienne you have some amazing lakes and activities not far away.
